The Holocaust

One mans attempt at playing God,

devil's tactics at his hand;

Trying to create a perfect race,

destruction at his command.

With a severed conscience and no guilt,

quest for power led the way;

His war camps were a living hell,

for lives that were his prey.

The Jewish people were a target,

Living experiments they became ;

Separated from their loved ones,

Given numbers for their name.

We must never forget the price paid,

men, women and children slain;

Their tears echo in hearts and souls,

pictures remind us of their pain.

Atrocities of which they were subjected,

not in our worst nightmares;

Being led into furnaces as clay figures,

Imagine their empty stares...
