Reflections of my Dad

Reflecting back on years gone by,

Remembering times we shared;

I now cherish in my life's journey,

knowing how much you cared.

Your gentle nature and kind heart,

emulating love and compassion;

Family values which you passed on,

will never become old fashion.

So many times father's hold back,

a caring hug or I love you;

But you did both so many times,

I was not left without a clue.

Giving me hope when life was dim,

discipline when I was wrong;

Teaching honesty and faithfulness,

always made character strong.

Now father's day comes my way

making me grateful and glad;

Recognizing God's belated gift ,

was granting me a loving dad.
