Pitter Patter
Pitter Patter
The pitter patter of little feet
racing across the floor
Full of never-ending energy
seeking an open door
Running straight ahead
traveling via side to side
Waddling like a penguin
They take all turns wide
Almost losing their balance
begins swaying to a stop
Reaching for the closest wall
they can make a prop
Quickly their racing days start over
when they attempt to move again
what can possibly slow them down
dashing towards the den
Something halts them in their tracks
their fanny plops to the ground
Eyes began to fill with salty tears
Their face now wears a frown
What could have ended the race
with all of the energy to spare
Is that tires that are burning ?
smelling up the air
