Being a parent is a blessing
Watching your child grow
Seeing From a perspective
Once you did not know
Having to become a teacher
Of both right and wrong
Showing how to share
How to get along
As they grow lessons come
Not only what they hear
Their eyes are focused in
On every laugh and tear
Like a sponge they soak up
Any quality time
This is what they cling too
Carry through their prime
As teen parents give and take
Responsibility
Knowing it will not be long
Until they are free
Whether your child is obedient
strong-willed like a goat
You love them just the same
Keep paddling the boat
Once they are on their own
you are a call away
To help anyway you can
Or hear what they say
Being a parent is a blessing
for the strong at heart
watching a child learn and grow
while playing a part
