My Worst Vacation

I had been looking forward too

a week in the Florida sun

But I challenged the Devil

Nothing will spoil our fun

I said a prayer before we left

we rode to the teller machine

It seemed to be out of order

I was calm and serene

Now headed out of town

We could get money later

But the temperature climbed

I left the cap off the radiator

It delayed us a little bit more

but we were on our way

We had no ac in our van

now facing mid day

I looked at the windshield

Guess what did I see

It had picked up a crack

I now was angry

I pouted for a little while

gained composure again

I refused to have a bad time

As bad as it had been

Soon we drove into Florida

We finally found our room

This was more like paradise

Was Satan plotting doom?

We got checked in and it was nice

The next day at Silver Springs

We spent most of our cash on hand

A prelude to bad things

We were outside the grocery

with food and kids loaded

I turn on the ignition to the Van

Boom! the battery exploded

I shook my head side to side

Lord please help me today

I glanced over my shoulder

And I saw a red neon K

So we walked over to Kmart

I put a battery on a visa card

I replace the one in the van

The task wasn't hard

When we got back to our room

We both started to panic

We could not find our visa cards

Looking for them frantic

I called up to report them missing

but found to my surprise

Someone ran them up months ago

before we hit Florida skies

Our biggest card was canceled

And cash had been diminished

We happened to find an ATM

It eat our card ,we are finished

We found the lost canceled card

now worth 1/64 a cent

We had only one other card

200.oo could be spent

Our room was a treat from a friend

so at least we had the free stay

We planned to go out site seeing

Until tire shims pulled away

I made the best of the situation

I took troy my son to the beach

My wife was watching the twins

one grabbed something out of reach

Me and the oldest came back inside

A twin pulled the television down

He stepped inside a dresser drawer

they both fell to the ground

So we then took him to the hospital

they splinted his arm that was broke

They recommended he see a specialist

He saw him ten minutes what a joke

We were billed for services not rendered

five hundred dollars, I wanted to flip

He charged for what the hospital done

and billed us for a return trip

Other things happened with our kids too

one got lipstick all over his face

Another broke a couple of glasses

We would have to replace

We did spend time with the three boys

We swam and made sand castles

We could not enjoy many luxuries

But had fun in spite of hassles

Our week was up and time to go home

And nothing went as we did plan

But now it is a funny memory

Spent playing in the sand
