Holiday Healing

I know when tough times have come

Holidays are not the same

I know anticipation for the season

can all but lose its flame

I know when lonely feelings linger

in midst of friends and family

I know how one gets preoccupied

as the past won't let them free

I know when Satan brings one down

with memories of the past

I know how he tries to persuade

how long the blues will last

I know when days seem like forever

as time seems to stand still

But I know God pours out blessings

till one's cup does overfill.

I know before healing can begin

one must let go of what was

It is then wonders will illuminate

of the little things God does
